 Classification of warehouses

European countries have long ago developed the definite classification of storage space that reflects and organizes the entire spectrum of the requirements to construction of the warehouses of a certain level. In Russia there is no strict classification approved at the legislative level.

To resolve this problem and determine the general criteria for evaluation of storage space for all the participants of this market in Russia, an international consulting firm developed and proposed a classification of warehouse space. According to this classification, all warehouses are divided into 6 classes: A +, A, B +, B, C, D. Compliance of the warehouse to a particular class is advisory in nature and depends on many factors, such as:

  • spans;
  • height;
  • number of floors;
  • location;
  • engineering equipment (ventilation, heating and other equipment, which allows to create specific climatic conditions);
  • security systems and fire extinguishing systems, CCTV;
  • height of the floors and the presence of anti-dust coating;
  • number of dock shelters with dock levers;
  • the areas for maneuvering and parking of trucks and cars;
  • offices, support facilities and structures;
  • site fencing with the round-the-clock security and others.

  • one-story warehouse building based on light metal and sandwich panels, of optimally rectangular shape without the intermediate support columns or with multi-spans of at least 12 meters;
  • built-up area - 40-45%;
  • floors with "anti-dust" coating and load of 5 tons / sqm at 1.20 m from the ground;
  • ceiling height of 13 meters, allowing to install the multi-level rack equipment (6-7 storeys);
  • adjustable temperature control;
  • fire alarm and automatic fire suppression systems;
  • ventilation system;
  • presence of security systems and CCTV;
  • independent electric substation and heating unit;
  • a certain number of dock shelters with dock levers (at least 1 per 500 sqm);

  •  concrete floors coated with "anti-dust" and designed for load of 5 tons / sqm at 1.20 m from the ground;
  • ceiling height of 10 meters allowing to install the multi-level rack equipment;
  • adjustable temperature control;
  • ventilation system;
  •  presence of fire alarm and automatic fire suppression systems;
  •  security systems and CCTV;
  •  a certain number of dock shelters with dock levers (at least 1 per 700 sqm);
  •  presence of heavy truck and car parking areas;
